Barbara Hale RIP
"Hiya, Beautiful" - a common phrase used by Paul Drake, Perry Mason's private investigator, when he came into Perry's office.

Barbara Hale, the Emmy Award-winning actress who typified the ideal mid-20th-century secretary as the beautiful, loyal, confident but soft-spoken Della Street on the television series “Perry Mason,” died on Thursday at her home in Los Angeles. She was 94.

In Britain the BBC screened Lady Luck from 1946, as a tribute, on February 4th. It was her first star billing, alongside Robert Young and her fifth movie appearance. Not a memorable film but a fine performance from the lady we came to know as Della Street.
I'm trying to get my hands on "West of the Pecos" (1945) with Robert Mitchum. Listed as a B movie but want to see it just for her.
Try Amazon.
I downloaded the movie from a torrent since I couldn't find it on any website where I could just leave a link. Anyhow, what a nice, happy little film. It's set in the west but very much a happy little love story mixed with typical B Western style...

Now if I could edit out 6 minutes I could post in on Dailymotion.. Not worth the effort so if I find a link I'll post it.
